I was told my terminal is not secure. Is there any truth to this?
A number of our merchants have contacted us recently with questions or concerns regarding phone calls, letters, or visits from individuals or automated messages purporting to be representatives of “your merchant services company” and/or Visa/MasterCard. These individuals will typically state something along the lines of your terminal not being “secure” or “compliant.”
While new guidelines were issued in October 2015 regarding an EMV liability shift, there is no reason to panic. If you receive such a solicitation, please call us at 877-997-9473 to check whether or not your terminal is capable of running EMV transactions.
A transaction will not run correctly. What can I do?
Before attempting to diagnose a terminal error, check the terminal’s connection to the following:
- Power source
- Phone line
- Ethernet cable
If you need to, unplug and then reconnect the power, phone, and Ethernet cables. If you are still having trouble with your machine, call us at 877-997-9473.
My terminal is locked. How do I unlock it?
If you are using a VX-520, unlocking your terminal is simple.
- Push the #8 button
- Enter the password (alpha, alpha, six, six, eight, three, one, and enter).
- Screen will ask you if you want to lock the keyboard.
- Press the corresponding “F2” key for NO
Money was never deposited to my account.
There are a number of reasons why funds were not deposited into your account, including your batch settings or communication/connectivity issues.
If funds were not deposited during on a federal holiday, when banks are closed, they will be deposited on the following business day.
